  • The Abba's Orchard Erdkinder

    This documentary captures the adolescents' passion and initiative to bring learning outside their classrooms by interacting with nature and with each other and with other communities beyond their own farm micro-economy.   In the world of Montessori, this is the Erdkinder.  It engages academic discipline, hones leadership, actualizes empathy, demands hardwork, valorizes the spirit, reveals mission.

     The Montessori Adolescent Summit on Air and Climate Change was one of the eight summits that was conducted in 2017 under the auspices of the Montessori Institute for the Science of Peace (MISP), Washington D.C. and the North American Montessori Teachers Association (NAMTA), Cleveland, OH.

    The Summit was held on March 1 to 4, 2017 at the farm campus of The Abba's Orchard in La Granja Estates in Bukidnon, Philippines. It was attended by close to 50 students from four Montessori adolescent schools operating in seven (7) campuses.
    Along with other adolescent summits that were organized by the MISP / NAMTA through other Montessori schools in Canada, the United States, Costa Rica, France, Mexico and Austria to talk about a focused topic from among the seven (7) elements in Montessori's Interdependency Chart (Air, Water, Plants, Energy, Land, Animals, Humans), the Philippine Summit produced a manifesto of a vision and actionable projects to be launched by the student delegates in their own campuses and communities. All summit delegates are converging in Prague in July 2017 to unify their voice and commitment.

  • Montessori vs Conventional Education

    {youtube}GcgN0lEh5IA{/youtube}

    Montessori and Conventional Schools are diametrically different in the way they view a child. Conventional schooling views the child as an object that needs to be acted upon, whereas Montessori believes the child is a free agent that can and will act for themselves in learning and discovering the world around them.

Welcome Message

From the very start, the Abba's Orchard School has provided environments that have been prepared to bring out the best in your child.

Dr. Maria Montessori dedicated her life to documenting the natural tendencies and sensitivities of your growing child. Her vocation has led to what is now known as the Montessori Method of Education.

Education in Montessori thought goes beyond academic objectives;

Its focus has always been to INSPIRE your child to become a lively, engaged, self-motivated, creative, responsible and caring individual.

When INSPIRED, a person does more and does excellently.

Montessori INSPIRES your child by creating PREPARED ENVIRONMENTS.

Discover the Prepared Environments for your child.

Discover them for your home.

Discover True Montessori!

“The environment must be rich in motives which lend interest to activity and
invite the child to conduct his own experiences.”

Testimonials

There were strong differences suggesting that Montessori students were feeling more active, strong, excited, happy, relaxed, sociable, and proud while engaged in academic work… They wanted to be doing academic work more than the traditional students.
